Designed for ritual wear, altar work, or daily spiritual practice, this piece reflects the ancient symbolism of the rising sun and the sacred scarab of Khepri. Through the deep celestial blue of lapis lazuli, the grounding warmth of sandalwood, and solar gold accents throughout the beadwork, the design reflects the meeting of earth, sky, and living life force. The subtle flashes of iridescent seed beads echo the shifting surface of a scarab's shell, carrying the symbolism of regeneration through the entire piece.

The Pendant

At the center rests a hand-burned wooden pendant marked with a scarab beetle. In ancient Egyptian symbolism the scarab represents Khepri, the form of the sun associated with dawn and the daily rebirth of light. Just as the scarab pushes its sphere across the earth, Khepri was understood to guide the sun across the horizon each morning, renewing the world with each rising.

The scarab carries subtle iridescent paint detailing that catches the light in shifting tones, reflecting the natural sheen found in beetle shells while reinforcing the symbolism of renewal and transformation.

Beneath the pendant hangs a black tassel with a royal blue accent tassel, adorned with an aged brass colored ankh charm and coordinated beadwork. The ankh represents the living current of life itself: vitality, breath, and the enduring spark that moves through all cycles of change.

Together, the scarab and ankh symbolize rebirth guided by life force, the continual renewal of energy, purpose, and movement through the cycles of existence.

Dark Sandalwood
Sandalwood brings grounding stability and quiet strength to the piece, balancing the luminous quality of the lapis while reinforcing patience, steadiness, and spiritual focus.

Glass Seed Beads
Matte black, transparent gold, iridescent red, and oil spill seed beads move rhythmically through the strands. The shifting colors echo the natural iridescence of the scarab while introducing subtle flashes of solar gold and protective red within the design.
