The Structure

Built around a wooden hanging ring and layered black cotton cord, this piece combines braided sections, knotwork, bead strands, symbolic charms, and burned wooden focal elements into a folk-inspired ritual object intended for display near entrances, altars, or other significant spaces.

The central Algiz symbol serves as the primary protective anchor. Traditionally associated with protection, vigilance, and standing guard, it establishes the core current around which the remainder of the design is built.

Additional burned symbols reinforce themes of awareness and watchfulness. The solar cross represents balance, order, and the steady presence of protective light. Rather than relying solely on bead counts, the influence of nine is woven directly into the construction itself through repeated knots, wraps, and structural groupings, allowing the symbolism to become part of the physical framework of the piece.
