A working altar tile centered on the Wheel of Hekate, blending the temple wheel associated with Lagina and the later strophalos form into a single unified design. This piece carries the current of the crossroads, where direction, decision, and unseen movement meet.

In simple terms: a piece for navigating turning points, working at thresholds, and holding steady when the path is not yet fully visible.

The Symbol

The Wheel of Hekate is historically associated with her worship at Lagina, where circular and radial forms appear in temple imagery. In later practice, the strophalos becomes a symbol of movement, turning forces, and the unfolding of hidden paths.

This design draws from both. The central wheel establishes focus and orientation, while the surrounding labyrinth-like pattern creates motion without chaos. It holds the idea that not all paths are straight, but all movement still turns around a center.

Form and Structure

This tile is built on a wood base with a raised interior surface, creating a contained working area framed by the outer edge. The elevation defines the space clearly, giving you a dedicated surface for tools, offerings, or focal objects while maintaining a sense of boundary and intention.

The silver detailing within the labyrinth catches light subtly, adding movement and depth without overpowering the burn work.

Craftsmanship
