A matched working in three parts: a hand-burned acacia wood altar tray, a coordinating talisman, and a piece of carnelian. Created to function together as a unified system for working with fire, vitality, and forward movement associated with seasonal transition.

Purpose & Practice

This set centers on the fire current present in the Beltane season. Not only as flame, but as the force that drives movement, growth, and the shift from stillness into action.

Fire in this context is not chaotic. It is directed. It is contained. It is the spark that begins something and the energy that sustains it once it has begun.

The tray provides a contained space where that current may be worked intentionally. The talisman extends that same current outward, allowing it to be carried into daily life. Together they form a working focused on ignition, momentum, and the steady building of energy toward a chosen direction.

Altar Tray

• Acacia wood with hand-burned fire-centered design
• Central flame contained within a circular field of radiating lines
• Botanical elements framing the flame, representing growth responding to heat and life force
• Entire design freehand burned
• Sealed with food-grade mineral oil (food safe)
• Dimensions: approximately 10.12 x 5.31 x 0.75 inches

The circular field surrounding the flame acts as a point of containment. In traditional practice, circles serve to hold and direct energy rather than allow it to disperse. The botanical elements represent the natural response to fire as life force: growth that follows heat, movement that follows ignition.

Talisman

Materials:

• Wood beads
• Carnelian
• Glass seed beads (matte black, iridescent red, gold)
• Aged gold colored metal spacer beads
• Hand-burned wooden flame pendant
• Red tassel with coordinated bead fall
• Aged gold knotwork charm
• Strung on leather cord

Dimensions:

• Neck loop: approximately 17 inches (one side)
• Full hanging length: approximately 24 inches

The talisman carries the same fire symbolism as the tray. When worn or carried, it serves as a continuation of the working, keeping the current of movement and vitality present beyond the altar space.

Included Stone

Carnelian

Traditionally associated with vitality, action, and the steady expression of intent into the physical world. Within this working, it acts as a grounding point for the fire current, helping to direct energy into movement rather than allowing it to remain abstract. Placed on the tray, it serves as a focal anchor. It may also be carried separately when additional support for motivation, confidence, or forward momentum is desired.

Metaphysical Alignment of Materials

• Carnelian: Associated with vitality, motivation, and forward movement. Often used in workings that require action, confidence, and the sustained energy needed to follow through.
• Fire Symbolism: Represents ignition, transformation, and the transition from potential into action. Fire is both beginning and continuation, requiring direction to remain constructive.
• Knotwork Charm: A symbol of continuity and interconnected movement. Reflects the idea that once a current is set in motion, it continues through repetition and reinforcement.

Craftsmanship

This tray is entirely freehand burned. Because of this process, no two will ever be exactly alike. Natural wood grain and hand-burned linework ensure each piece carries its own unique character. This exact design will not be repeated.

Each component is ritually blessed before leaving my hands.

Colors may vary slightly from photos or videos due to lighting and natural wood tone, though I do my best to capture each piece as accurately as possible.

Care & Notes

Handle with care to preserve the longevity of the leather cord and beadwork. Because the pendant is natural wood and the piece is constructed as beadwork rather than hardware, it should be treated as a handcrafted ritual object rather than a heavy-duty wearable.
