One of a kind. This piece will not be recreated in this exact form.

A working talisman inspired by the northern lights, built around perception in motion, shifting visibility, and the ability to recognize what is present before it fully reveals itself. Like the aurora, this piece does not push or force. It appears, moves, and fades, showing only what can be seen in that moment.

Constructed with a fluid, layered structure, it is designed for ritual wear, altar work, or personal practice centered on awareness, observation, and transition. In older terms, this would have been used as an omen-reading piece, working with the understanding that not everything reveals itself all at once.

The Work This Piece Supports

This piece is not built for control or outcome-driven work. It sits in the space of observation, where meaning is recognized rather than imposed.

  • Watching patterns as they begin to take shape
  • Reading movement before it becomes fixed
  • Working within moments where direction is not yet decided
  • Allowing insight to surface without forcing it
  • Recognizing when something is a sign rather than a coincidence

This is a piece for those who pay attention.

The Pendant

At the center rests a hand-burned wooden pendant depicting a low horizon with rising arcs and vertical lines moving upward through the boundary. The horizon marks a division between what is known and what lies beyond it. The upward movement breaking through that line represents activity within that boundary, not outside of it.

Much like the northern lights themselves, what is seen here is not fixed. It is movement captured in a single moment. The circular form reinforces containment, holding the work within a defined space while allowing movement to occur inside it.

Tassel and Symbolic Weight

Beneath the pendant hangs a black tassel paired with a purple accent tassel, framed by a crescent moon charm with abalone shell inlay and a coordinated bead fall. Placed at the lowest point, this becomes the active field of the talisman, where movement is grounded into form without being fixed.

  • Crescent Moon: A marker of cycles, phases, and partial illumination. Reflects what is visible versus what remains obscured.
  • Abalone Shell: Shifting surface, constant change held within a single form, echoing the color and movement of the aurora.
  • Black: Depth, stillness, and the unseen field where perception begins.
  • Purple: Threshold space, awareness, and the point between clarity and mystery.

Sacred Materials

  • Rainbow Sheen Obsidian: Depth and layered visibility. What is present beneath the surface becomes apparent under the right conditions. Historically aligned with reflective surfaces used for observation rather than projection.
  • Dyed Aurora Tiger's Eye: Traditionally associated with watchfulness and clear perception in uncertain or shifting conditions. Carries the visual language of tracking movement and maintaining awareness without reacting impulsively.
  • Dark Sandalwood: Warm, grounding structure that holds the piece without overpowering its movement.
  • Glass Seed Beads (Matte Black, Dark Blue, Oil Spill): Subtle variation and rhythm, supporting the visual flow and echoing the shifting tones of the aurora against the night sky.
  • Silver-Colored Metal Accents: Structure and spacing, allowing each section of the piece to remain distinct while still connected.
  • Hand-Burned Wooden Pendant: Horizon and rising arc design representing movement within a contained field.
  • Crescent Moon Charm with Abalone Inlay: Cyclical awareness and shifting visibility, reflecting the luminous quality of the northern lights.
  • Leather Cord: Flexible and durable, supporting long-term ritual use.

Numerological Structure

Constructed with a 7-based count. Seven has long been associated with the sky, the unseen, and patterns that are not immediately obvious. It reinforces this piece as one built for observation, awareness, and working within spaces that are still forming rather than fully defined.

Ritual Applications

  • Intuitive and perception-based work
  • Omen reading and pattern recognition
  • Transitional or liminal phase support
  • Night work or sky-aligned ritual
  • Altar placement for ongoing observation-based practice

Best suited for intentional use rather than casual daily wear due to its length and structure.

Dimensions

  • Neck loop (one side): approximately 21 inches
  • Full hanging length: approximately 29 inches

Handcrafted and Consecrated

This piece is entirely one of a kind and will not be recreated in this exact form. Natural variation in wood grain, stone tone, and beadwork ensures each element carries its own character. Every talisman is ritually blessed before leaving my hands.

Care and Notes

Handle with care to preserve the longevity of the leather cord and beadwork. This piece is constructed as beadwork rather than hardware and should be treated as a handcrafted ritual object rather than a heavy-duty piece.

Wear over time is expected with natural materials. Should the cord eventually give under long-term use, this is considered part of the piece's natural lifecycle. Rebuilding services are available if you would like the piece restrung and returned to working condition.

Colors may vary slightly from photos or videos due to lighting and natural wood tone, though I do my best to capture each piece as accurately as possible.
